About Me

I starting getting into tech around 2005. I read a PDF version of Web Database Applications with PHP & MySQL, 2nd Edition . This was a steep learning curb but I kept going. I got into using Oscommerce and started helping people in the forums. I even wrote a few of my own Add-Ons. It was a very procedural application but good for a beginner. I then read PHP Objects, Patterns and Practice (Expert's Voice in Open Source) . This was a good intro to Objects in programming.

My current experience is with Python, PHP, VB.NET/C#, MySQL, SQL Server, Pervasive, Javascript and HTML/CSS.

Linux

Ubuntu seems to be my mainstay now.

I would have never tried Linux if it wasn't for Windows XP not working on a $4 dollar broken Garage Sale computer. I had an OEM copy and it would load on it. I was a little nieve and just didn't understand. My brother had a Professor at college that recommended Linux. It was difficult but that is how I learned.

Overall I will try to use a Free Software solution when I can.
